Jacob Ludwig Carl Grimm was born on January 4, 1785, in the German village of Hanau. The tales include such classics as “Snow White,” “Rumpelstiltskin,” “Rapunzel,” “Cinderella,” and “Little Red Riding Hood.”

They put together a famous book of folktales that has been published in at least 70 languages.
